二週間ほど前に、Jeff Foster(ジェフ・フォスター)がtwitterでGuru Tactic(グルの戦術)という面白いことを書いていたので、シェアしてみたいと思います。かなり皮肉な感じは英国風な味わいなのでしょうか。

• グルのやり口その１「私は正しい。もしあなたが私を疑うならば、それはあなたのエゴの仕業だ。あなたのエゴを滅しなさい」(I’m right. If you doubt me, it’s your ego speaking. Annihilate your ego.)
• グルのやり口その２「実在は概念的なものではない。あなたの無知による疑いや疑問はすべて概念的なものだ。私にはそれが分かる。なぜなら私は概念を超越しているからだ」(Reality is non-conceptual. Your ignorant doubts and questions are all conceptual. I know because I am beyond concepts.)
• グルのやり口その３「ここには誰も存在していない。だがそこにはまだ誰かがいる。「誰か」よ、私に従いなさい。そうすればいつかそこには誰も存在しなくなるだろう」(There is nobody here. But there is still somebody there. Follow me, dear somebody, and, one day there will be nobody.)
• グルのやり口その４「他のすべての教えは誤りであり無知に根ざしている。私の教えは真実であり明晰さに基づいている。」(All other teachings are false and rooted in ignorance. Except mine, which is true and rooted in clarity.)
• グルのやり口その５「悟りにいたる方法はなく、修行もない。私の会に来るということと、他のすべてを放棄するということを除いては。」(There is no path, no practice. Except the path of coming to my meetings, and the practice of giving up everything else.)
• グルのやり口その６「私は分離というものをみない。私の教え(非二元的)と他のすべての教え(二元的)との違いはあるがね。」(I see no separation. Well, except between my teaching (non-dualistic) and all others (dualistic).)
• グルのやり口その７「もしあなたが私から苦痛を与えられていると感じているならば、それはあなたがエゴに囚われているからだ。」(If my abuse hurts you, it’s because you are trapped in your ego.)
• グルのやり口その８「もしあなたが『分からない』というならば、それはあなたが正しく聞いていないからであり、私の伝える力や伝え方とは何の関係もない。」(If you don’t “get it”, your listening is at fault – it’s nothing to do with my inability/refusal to communicate.)
• グルのやり口その９「私はグルではない。ここにあるのがグルのやり口のリストだ。」(I’m not a guru. Here’s a list of guru tactics…)
